Get Involved

There has never been a better time to get involved with the work of the Green Party.

Party membership has soared nationally, and here in Westmorland and Lonsdale it has quadrupled in the last year.

Any help you give us, from a regular donation to work on the doorstep, will make a real difference to getting Greens elected locally, where we can create a fairer, cleaner, more affordable future for everyone.

Join the Green Party

As a member, you can be as active as you like - from armchair and online support to standing as a candidate for election.

You can help get Green councillors elected by delivering leaflets, by fundraising, or by knocking on doors and talking to people.

Volunteering with the Green Party

There’s so much to do to win elections. Even if you don't want to make the commitment of joining us, we always welcome supporters and volunteers.

Could you put up a poster at election time, help deliver leaflets, or go out with our campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns? Do you have fundraising experience or web design, press, research and administrative skills? Whatever your skillset and level of experience, and however much or little time you can give, you will be an asset to us, and we’d love to hear from you.

Contact Us for more information about ways you can get involved, or sign up using the form below:

Helping in your local community by delivering a few leaflets or chatting with voters on the doorstep will make a real difference to getting more Greens elected.

Making a donation

Unlike the other parties, the Green Party doesn’t accept corporate donations. We are funded instead by membership fees and donations from individuals. Your regular or one off donation will help us raise our profile locally, deliver more leaflets and generally support the work of our members across the district.

We’re in the process of putting in place the means to donate electronically to the Westmorland and Lonsdale Green Party. If you’d like to make a donation in the meantime please contact our treasurer, Chris Rowley.

Stand for Council

We aim to stand in all local and national elections from now on, so we need enthusiastic, committed and hard-working candidates. If you think you might be interested in standing for the Green Party then we’d love to hear from you – please get in touch, and we can discuss it with you. We’re particularly keen to ensure diversity amongst our candidates.

Candidates must be paid-up members of the Green Party and support its main aims and policies.

Local contact

Andy Chapple is our local party contact and can be contacted via email or by mobile phone on 07703 883474 .
