First Green Party Councillor Elected in Kendal

17 May 2018

Kendal elected its first Green Party councillor in May's local elections as voters in Kendal North chose Chris Rowley to represent them on Kendal Town Council, which was previously exclusively run by the Liberal Democrats. Chris is now Kendal's only non-Liberal Democrat councillor. Labour and the Conservatives do not have any councillors in Kendal.

Chris said: "I'd like to thank the voters for having the conviction to vote for what they believe in. I've loved hearing from so many of my neighbours about what matters to them, from road safety to housing, local transport and flooding. I look forward to continuing to work with them, representing their views and bringing a fresh perspective to a town council that was previously monopolised by one party."
