Westmorland and Lonsdale Green Party

Membership of the Green Party is soaring, both locally and nationally. Here in Westmorland and Lonsdale, membership has nearly quadrupled in the last year, and, in addition to this, we have a huge and growing list of supporters. The Westmorland and Lonsdale Green Party has recently selected its first parliamentary candidate for over 30 years. Congratulations to Chris Loynes, who will be standing for us in the 2015 election. Keep up-to-date with what Chris is doing by Following him on Twitter and Liking his new campaign on Facebook page.

In addition to standing in the general election, we intend to stand in all local wards up for election in 2015 – details to be confirmed nearer the time.

People are increasingly realising that the Green Party stands for much more than the environment. Fundamentally, we’re a party campaigning for social justice and equality. A party that believes our society should be run according to the needs and wishes of its people and communities, not powerful and unaccountable corporations. A party that is working towards a better, more equal, more sustainable, and healthier society.
